Welcome to today’s Sunday Surf!
The Sunday Surf includes some of my favorite posts from the past week. Enjoy!
Phew, Happy Monday everyone! Another busy week for me here but I read a couple of great articles I wanted to share, so forgive that it’s a little late. :)
- Researching Circumcision: What is the Foreskin is the first post in Code Name: Mama’s series about circumcision. A must-read to help parents make an informed, ethical choice for their sons.
- Lactation Narration offers an amazing compilation on the varying storage guidelines for breastmilk.
- Baby Dust Diaries shares 5 Ways to Restore Trust in the US Vaccination Program. I fully relate to the isolating and patronizing way some doctors treat parents who are hesitant to vaccinate. After Pip’s emergency room visit after receiving the MMA vaccine and the subsequent trivializing reaction from the pediatricians, I believe it’s more important than ever to get INFORMED so I can, once again, make ethical choices for my child.
- HoboMama’s timely post on the division of responsibility in sleeping saved me from pulling my hair out this last week. With Pip taking upwards of two hours lately to fall asleep, I was really struggling until I read this. Now, I’m switching it up, and if she’s awake, I let her chat and flip through books as I read on my phone, until she’s tired enough to fall asleep. Overall this is a great reminder that a) we can’t force anyone to fall asleep, and b) being flexible can be a life saver!
